1. Core Philosophy: Zero-Storage
InstantTools.org operates on a "Browser-First" architecture. Unlike traditional file converters, we do not upload your documents to a centralized server for processing. Instead, we utilize WebAssembly (WASM) and client-side JavaScript to perform all operations directly on your machine.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the essential data to provide and secure our service:
- Account Data: If you sign in via email (Magic Link), we store your email address to manage your subscription and usage limits.
- Billing Information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card details; we only receive a confirmation of payment and a unique customer ID.
- Rate Limiting: For anonymous users, we hash your IP address to enforce the 10-tool daily limit. This data is reset every 24 hours.
- AI Prompts: Formula AI, SQL Query AI, AI Text Detector, and AI Transcription are currently marked "Coming Soon" and not available to use. Once enabled, text you submit to those features would be proxied to Google Gemini to generate a response — see Section 3 below for details on what each one sends.
3. AI Integration
Four planned features on InstantTools are not fully client-side, because they rely on a language model too large to run in a browser tab: Formula AI, SQL Query AI, AI Text Detector, and AI Transcription. These are currently marked "Coming Soon" and not available to use yet. Once enabled, the relevant input — your formula/query description, the text you paste for detection, or the audio you upload for transcription — would be sent to our server, which acts as a secure proxy to the Google Gemini API, and the result returned to your browser. For Formula AI and SQL Query AI, this means only your typed description would be sent, never your underlying spreadsheet or database files. For AI Text Detector, the pasted text would be sent in full to generate the analysis. Every other tool on InstantTools processes your files entirely in your browser with no server involved at all.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners to fund our operations. These services may use cookies or similar technologies to serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting your Google Ad Settings or your browser's ad settings.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Since we do not store your files, local session memory is cleared as soon as you close your browser tab. For registered users, account data (email/name) is retained as long as your account is active. You may request full account and data deletion at any time by contacting our support team.
